What is anchor text?
Anchor text is the visible, clickable text of a hyperlink. It informs Google and users about the topic of the target page. For example, in the link "check out our SEO guide" — the anchor text is "SEO guide."
Types of anchor text
Exact match — the exact keyword ("SEO positioning"). Partial match — contains the keyword with other words ("how SEO positioning works"). Branded — a brand name ("ARDURA Lab"). Generic — general ("click here," "read more"). URL — the page address itself.
How to use anchor text?
A diverse anchor text profile looks natural to Google. Avoid overusing exact match — it's a signal of manipulation. The best anchors describe the content of the target page and help users understand where they'll land after clicking.
