JavaScript SEO

What is JavaScript SEO?

JavaScript SEO is the optimization of websites built on JavaScript frameworks (React, Next.js, Angular, Vue) for indexing by Google. Google renders JavaScript, but with a delay — content generated client-side may not be indexed immediately.

Why is it a challenge?

Googlebot has a limited rendering budget. SPA (Single Page Application) pages without SSR may have issues with indexing content, internal links, and meta tags. Lazy loading and dynamic routing can hide content from crawlers.

How to solve the problems?

Use SSR (Server-Side Rendering) or SSG (Static Site Generation) — Next.js and Astro are excellent options. Ensure that critical content is in the HTML, not only in JavaScript. Test rendering in Google Search Console (URL Inspection). Use semantic HTML and proper meta tags.
